This activity focuses on young people actively participating in debate and dialogue around issues that matter to them and their local areas.
Young people will be given the chance to learn more about how they could be perceived as a public speaker in this interactive workshop, before putting those new found skills to the test in a debate about an issue that matters to them.
They’ll hone their researching skills in order to create balanced arguments to try and win the group over to support their cause, before taking part in a vote to determine the overall outcome. They will find their confidence heightened and their ability to speak in front of their peers and others increased through the activities and workshop based session content, as well as having time to self-reflect on their own contributions.
