Travel Info

If you have arranged your transfers through Inntravel, please find details below:

Arrival

From Naples airport – by taxi: If you have booked a direct taxi transfer, you will be met by a driver from Ravello Car Service taxis. In case of need the first number to call is +39 334 6620218 (Signor Alfredo) or alternatively (+39) 089 858086 or mobile (+39) 335 367658] for the journey to Cava.

From Naples airport – by train:

If your journey to Salerno is by train, please refer to your itinerary for rail travel times. Our “Travelling by Rail in Italy” leaflet provides details on your rail tickets and the trains in Italy. Please double-check the time of your connections locally.

You need to travel first to the station in Naples. To do this, we recommend taking one of the inexpensive taxis* – the airport is only about 7km from the city centre. Make sure that you make the driver aware that you know the taxi has a meter – the fare should be in the region of €15-20. Ask the driver to take you to Napoli Centrale which is situated in Piazza Garibaldi. (*Alternatively you may prefer to avoid the somewhat chaotic taxi system by taking the airport bus, ‘Alibus’, which connects the airport with the central station.)

Trains to Salerno are on the Salerno or Taranto line, so you should look for these as the destination. Be careful not to get on a train called the Circumvesuviana, which goes to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Sorrento.)

If we have arranged transfers for you, in Salerno, you will be collected by a representative of the hotel at the time shown on your itinerary. If you know that you are going to arrive at a different time, please try to inform the hotel. If no-one is at the station to meet you, please phone the hotel.

From Rome Airports – by train:

Please refer to your itinerary for rail travel times. Our “Travelling by Rail in Italy” leaflet provides details on your rail tickets and the trains in Italy. Please double-check the time of your connections locally and note that schedules are reduced on public holidays.

You need to travel first to Rome Termini train station where you will connect with your onward train to Salerno (as per your itinerary). If we have arranged transfers for you from Salerno you will be collected by a representative of the hotel at the time shown on your itinerary. If you know that you are going to arrive at a different time, please try to inform the hotel.

From Rome Fiumicino Airport to Rome Termini: The airport is about 35km from the city. The best way to reach the city centre is by train, with departures every 30 minutes from the airport between 0700 and 2200. The journey takes 35 minutes – tickets are approx €14. Please validate your ticket (timbrare il biglietto) in one of the automatic machines before boarding the train.

A taxi all the way from the airport will normally cost around €50, although it is possible to pre-book collective taxis to and from the airport for less, using a service which previous customers have recommended: e-mail f.paparo@tin.it or phone (00 39) 06 77 59 04 75. (Please make sure you get a guaranteed rate when booking). If taking a taxi, we recommend using only authorised taxis and negotiating a fare before you begin your journey. They may charge supplements for luggage and for night-time/public holiday travel.

Both Ryanair and Easyjet have transfer coaches to Rome Termini station. These can be pre-booked on their websites or purchased on arrival (approx €8 one way, €13.50 return). The journey takes around 40 mins and departures are normally 40-50 mins after the flight arrives.

From Rome Ciampino Airport to Rome Termini: The airport is approx 15km south-east of the city. There is a bus service to Termini station (which links with Ryanair & Easyjet arrivals). The journey takes around 40mins and costs approx €4. A taxi from the airport will be in the region of €35 - 40. If taking a taxi, we recommend using only authorised taxis and negotiating a fare before you begin your journey. They may charge supplements for luggage and for night-time/public holiday travel.

There is also a bus from the airport to Ciampino railway station (every 30 minutes – 5min journey – cost approx €1). A subway then connects Ciampino railway station with Rome's Termini Station every 15 minutes.
