Around Ravello
We offer two walks for your time here; both take you to Pontone and Torre dello Ziro, after which you have a choice of onward routes.
Update April 2022: Due to a landslide in the lower Valle Ferriere, option B is currently not fully viable pending maintenance works. Please see further below for the specific (closed) section.
Option A: Pontone & Scala: 8km, 3.5hrs; ascent / descent 575m
Overview
From the watchtower, continue by ascending through the tiny settlements of Pontone and Minuto, under which are pretty terraces of lemons and vines, before returning to Ravello via the quiet neighbouring village of Scala.
The walk crosses Valle del Dragone, following an ancient route that was once the only link from Ravello to the sea-front village of Atrani. You head towards the tiny village of Pontone from where you strike out along a wooded promontory to reach Torre dello Ziro, one of Amalfi’s oldest watchtowers, standing in a commanding position high above Amalfi and Atrani.

Food & Drink
Take some supplies from Ravello as the route is fairly remote. However, there are some facilities en-route at Pontone & Scala.
