This is a lovely place to start your holiday - a small village up in the hills with the Amalfi Coast a tantalising short distance away.
Corpo di Cava is distinguished mainly by the impressive Benedictine abbey of SS Trinità , which was founded in 1011 and restored in the Baroque style in the C18th. There are some very fine interior decorations, including a remarkable C12th stone ambo (pulpit) decorated with mosaic, Renaissance bas-reliefs, and other paintings executed up to the C19th.
There is also a small museum exhibiting Roman and other archaeological finds.
Guided tours of the abbey normally take place every morning until 1115, which have been thoroughly enjoyed by previous customers. Please enquire at your hotel reception for more details.
